Matt continued to work as an assistant coach for an additional 6 years. His passion for working with athletes drove him to return to FGCU to obtain his degree in Exercise Science. With 8 years of being an assistant coach and a bachelor’s degree in hand, Palmetto Ridge hired Matt on as the Head Girl’s Cross-Country coach.

Matt’s favorite part of coaching is giving individuals opportunities they may not have had otherwise.
“Anyone can pick up a pair of running shoes, or even a couple of dumbbells and go out and do their thing. My drive is to help people pass their sticking point, pass that training plateau, and push beyond their human limits to reach a new level of performance, efficiency, or quality of life. Nothing compares to the feeling when an athlete or individual I’ve worked with has that excited glow after achieving or pushing beyond their training goals”.
Matt’s history with Beyond Motion began with a stroke of luck, when he heard about the internship program during his senior semester at FGCU. Spending his final semester as an intern at Beyond Motion, Matt quickly attached to the coaches and their wealth of knowledge. He now works to apply all of his acquired knowledge and research to clients to give them the same advantages he had been granted.
